Wilson Samaké is a striker from the Val-de-Marne region near Paris. He joined Stade Rennais aged 15, having spent a number of years playing for AS Orly. As a promising youngster with the Stade Rennais Academy team with a huge potential, he scored 8 goals in the French FA Youth Cup (Coupe Gambardella) in the 2021/2022 season. He also got called up to play for the French U16s team, two goals in three caps, and for the U18s. A powerful striker, adept at getting in behind defences, he was elevated to the Reserves, and regularly trained with the professional team as of 2022. On 10th March 2023, he was rewarded for his good performances with his first Professional Contract of three years with the Red and Blacks. Samaké struggled to get any action, however, with the first team at Rennes, and on 25th October 2024, he was loaned out (without a buyout clause) to Châteauroux, who were bottom of the French third tier (National 1) at the time, with the goal of giving him some invaluable competitive match practice to help him develop.
